"Study Smart, Not Hard" Workshops

Each summer, I offer workshops for middle and high school students. Each consists of a series of four consecutive two-hour classes that focus on the essential writing, study and organizational skills needed for success in middle and high school.
There will be four two hour sessions in each workshop series, at a cost of $400 per student with a $100 deposit, refundable only in the event that I must cancel the class. The price includes instruction, materials and individual assessment of student work. Students must bring a computer with internet capability to each class. Middle School Essentials

This workshop is designed for incoming 6th, 7th and 8th graders and will include a combination of writing and study skills techniques designed especially for middle school students. Topics will include:

High School Writing and Study Skills

This workshop is designed for incoming freshmen and sophomores. It will review the basic writing and study skills that were covered in middle school, and will introduce some of the techniques that will help students be prepared for the rigors of high school writing across the curriculum. Topics will include:
